Cheyenne has a cultural diversity and variety unlike most communities. By mixing tradition with innovation, the community offers something for everyone to provide a great place to live and work. Cheyenne is located at the north end of the Front Range and enjoys a “best of both worlds” atmosphere with the benefits of both Colorado’s growth and Wyoming’s affordable housing and low cost of living.

Cheyenne has a multitude of cultural and recreational opportunities and is well known for the annual Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration, which combines the world’s largest outdoor rodeo with a variety of musical entertainment. The Civic Center hosts a theater season and the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra. Laramie is close by with access to the Snowy Range, offering skiing and snowboarding.

Cheyenne is the home of Cheyenne Frontier Days™, the Daddy of ‘em All! Cheyenne Frontier Days™ is the largest outdoor rodeo in the United States and is held the last full week of July each year.

This event is staffed almost entirely by volunteers. Activities include rodeos, night concerts, Native American arts and culture. Downtown activities include parades, pancake breakfasts, an autograph signing by the Air Force Thunderbirds and free outdoor concerts on the Depot Plaza.

The City of Cheyenne welcomes and values our military personnel who so admirably serve our country. Cheyenne is proud of the F.E. Warren Air Force Base and other military installations that operate here.

Cheyenne’s history began on the day that Fort D. A. Russell was selected as the site for an army post. Since then, Cheyenne residents and military personnel have lived side-by-side and worked together for the betterment of both the City and the base.

Downtown Cheyenne offers a multitude of restaurants, shops, bars, hotels, recreational activities and cultural events.

The Cheyenne Civic Center hosts a theater season, numerous musical productions and the outstanding performances of the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra. The Cheyenne Little Theater Players present plays and melodramas throughout the year in the Atlas Theater in downtown Cheyenne. The Union Pacific Depot is a National Historic Landmark on the south end of Capitol Avenue and the State Capitol Building is another National Historic Landmark on the north end of Capitol. The Cheyenne Visitor Center is located in the lobby of the Union Pacific Depot, along with Cheyenne LEADS, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, the Cheyenne Depot Museum and the Downtown Development Authority.
