Haven’t been Downtown lately? You may be surprised by what you see. Aside from the renovation of the Historic Union Pacific Depot and construction of the Depot Square Plaza and parking structure, downtown has been enhanced in other noticable ways. More than 300 planters adorn downtown corners, new vibrant banners are on display and holiday decorations thrill the kid in all of us. New streetscape has been installed including brick pavers, period lighting, trees, new benches and trash cans. Downtown’s most famous icon, the cowboy boot, is represented throughout the district with 8-foot artisan boots telling the stories of the old and new wests. A new downtown cleanliness and maintenance team has been established to make sure your experience here is a clean and safe one—just look for the folks in the red shirts.
